Kristal Marshall says Melina personifies what a WWE Diva is.

Marshall participated in the 2005 Raw Diva Search, and though she didn’t win, she subsequently signed a deal with the company. She later joined SmackDown as a backstage correspondent and subsequently competed on the brand. Marshall was also involved in an on-screen storyline with Theodore Long, which culminated in their wedding, where Long had a heart attack as part of the angle. Meanwhile, Melina was one of the top stars of the WWE Divas Era; she is a former three-time Women’s Champion and two-time Divas Champion.

Speaking with Just Alyx, Marshall was asked who she thinks best represents what a WWE Diva was during her time with the company. In response, she named Melina and highlighted the way she drew emotion from the fans.

“I could never stop giving her her flowers. I think that Melina is under-praised and undervalued. I think she personifies what a Diva is. She’s controversial. She’s sexy. She’s athletic as hell. She’s a great showwoman. She’s all of those things. Somebody that can evoke such emotion, sometimes a visceral reaction, from fans is really endearing and that’s what wrestling’s all about. It’s about how much emotion you can draw from your fans and I think she’s one of the best. I hope to I hope one day we get to see her in the Hall of Fame,” Marshall said.
