Alex Kane Wishes MLW Would Air His Openweight Title Match, Understands It’s Not Personal

Alex Kane wishes MLW would air the match where he lost the MLW National Openweight Championship

Alex Kane wishes MLW would air the match where he lost the MLW National Openweight Championship, considering the fact that the new champion continues to defend the title.

Richards beat Kane to win the MLW National Openweight Championship at the Battle Riot IV taping on June 23. But MLW has yet to air the bout; the company’s new season will premiere on November 3 on Pro Wrestling TV. However, Richards has already defended the championship on multiple occasions.

Speaking on The Shining Wizards Wrestling Podcast, Kane was asked to describe how he felt about MLW not airing the match and having Richards subsequently defend the title. He noted that he was initially frustrated, but he stepped back and realized that it wasn’t personal. Kane also expressed his hope that MLW will broadcast the match, preferably on the premiere of the Battle Riot event.

“I was definitely a little p.o.’ed when I first saw it. But then I had to reel myself back in and remind myself that one, it’s business, two, it’s not personal, and three, I guess it gets more eyes on MLW. So that works for them. But I really do wish they would just release the match. It’s probably gonna… because Battle Riot comes out on November 3 on the Pro Wrestling TV app. But I don’t know if it’s gonna be the full show, or if it’s just gonna be the Battle Riot and some matches. But the smart way I think to do it is definitely the Battle Riot or whatever because that’s what people want to see, but definitely have that match somewhere in on that first show. I think it’s gonna be really weird if they try to ask the fans like, ‘Who do you think won the match?’ Like some carny shit like that. That would be weird,” Kane said.

Richards will defend the MLW National Openweight Championship at NWA Hard Times 3. More information is available here.

Two former ROH names have reportedly joined MLW. More information is available here.
