New NJPW STRONG Openweight Tag Team Champs Crowned At NJPW Rumble On 44th Street

New champions crowned at NJPW Rumble on 44th Street. 

The Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin) are the new NJPW STRONG Openweight Tag Team Champions, winning the belts at NJPW Rumble on 44th Street in a triple threat match that also featured Aussie Open (Mark Davis & Kyle Fletcher) and Kevin Knight & The DKC. 

The finish saw Motor City Machine Guns hit a series of double teams moving culminating with a double DVD driver on Kevin Knight for the win. 

This marks the first reign as NJPW STRONG Openweight Tag Team Champions for Motor City Machine Guns. They are former IMPACT, ROH, and IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions. 

Aussie Open were the first-ever NJPW STRONG Openweight Tag Team Champions, winning the titles on the August 13 episode of NJPW STRONG when they defeated Christopher Daniels & Yuya Uemura in the tournament final. They made three successful title defenses.
