Here is your fight size update for NXT and AEW Dynamite on Tuesday, October 18, 2022:

NXT

– Roxanne Perez and Cora Jade picked their rival’s poison. Jade selected Rhea Ripley, and the Raw star defeated Perez. Roxanne’s choice, Raquel Rodriguez, got disqualified in her match against Jade when she hit the latter with a weapon. Perez and Jade then brawled ahead of their clash at NXT Halloween Havoc.

– The O.C. (Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows) teamed up with Cameron Grimes to beat The Schism (Joe Gacy, Rip Fowler, and Jagger Reid).

In a split-screen interview, Damon Kemp and Julius Creed sent their final messages ahead of their Ambulance Match at NXT Halloween Havoc. Creed took shots at Steveson, noting that he’s not even the best athlete in his own family. 

– Von Wagner confronted Axiom and Nathan Frazier. The big man vowed to win the NXT North American Championship Ladder Match at NXT Halloween Havoc.

Chucky crashed a class at Chase University and delivered his own teachable moment. In doing so, he freaked Thea Hail out.

Sanga told Veer that he was ready to listen, and the two powerhouses walked away together.

– Alba Fyre defeated Sonya Deville. NXT Women’s Champion Mandy Rose tried to attack Fyre after the match, but her Halloween Havoc opponent gained the upper hand and posed with the title.

Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams defeated Oro Mensah and Wes Lee in a tag team match.

Nikkita Lyons and Zoey Stark signed the contracts for their match with NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions Katana Chance and Kayden Carter next week.

– Chucky confirmed that Grayson Waller will face Apollo Crews in a Spin the Wheel, Make a Deal Match at NXT Halloween Havoc.

Shinsuke Nakamura was revealed as Tony D’Angelo’s hand-picked opponent for Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo. The former NXT Champion defeated “Stacks” in his return to the brand.

Shotzi was revealed as the host of NXT Halloween Havoc. Quincy Elliot won the right to co-host the show by defeating Xyon Quinn.

NXT Tag Team Champions Pretty Deadly (Elton Prince and Kit Wilson) signed the contract for their title match against Mailk Blade and Edris Enofe next week.

Kevin Owens hosted a special edition of the KO Show with NXT Champion Bron Breakker, Ilja Dragunov, and JD McDonagh as his guests. The three men discussed their upcoming match at NXT Halloween Havoc, and the talk show ended in a brawl. Austin Theory appeared at the end of the show and teased cashing in his Money in the Bank contract.

– Tony D’Angelo commented on his business arrangement with Shinsuke Nakamura.

– In a WWE Digital Exclusive, Shotzi and Quincy Elliot teased that they have something glorious and spooky in mind for NXT Halloween Havoc.

– In a WWE Digital Exclusive, Raquel Rodriguez said she did what she needed to do. Perez stated that, after her tough bout against Rhea Ripley, she’s ready for NXT Halloween Havoc, and she’s not afraid of anything.

AEW Dynamite

– MJF confronted William Regal and told him that he wanted to quit and kill himself after Regal rejected him during his early days as a wrestler. He recalled the way Regal shot him down when he was trying to make it to the WWE and compared his promo skills to acting. But he pointed out that, now, Regal is a man who got fired, whereas MJF is a generational talent. Regal responded by telling MJF that while he might make a lot of money, he hasn’t proven himself yet.

– In the main event, Jon Moxley beat Hangman Page to retain the AEW World Championship when the referee stopped the match. Hangman suffered an apparent injury, and officials checked on him. Moxley then called out MJF and dared him to cash in his title shot.

– MJF came to the ring with a referee and nearly cashed his chip in. He changed his mind and told Moxley that he’ll challenge for the gold at AEW Full Gear because he wants to earn it.

– Death Triangle (Pac, Penta Oscuro & Rey Fenix) retained their AEW World Trios Championship against Best Friends (Trent Beretta & Chuck Taylor) and Orange Cassidy.

 – Chris Jericho defeated Dalton Castle in a hard-fought match to retain the ROH World Championship. 

– After the match, Jericho attacked Jerry Lynn.

– WardJoe (Wardlow and Samoa Joe) shared their thoughts on The Kingdom’s debut. They noted that Matt Taven and Mike Bennett picked a fight with the wrong people.

– Christian Cage stated that he and Luchasaurus are done with Jungle Boy. Cage teased that they’re on to bigger and better things.

– Britt Baker and Jamie Hayter vowed that one of them would win the AEW Women’s World Championship by the end of the year.

– Toni Storm beat Hikaru Shida to retain the AEW Interim Women’s World Championship. Britt Baker, Jamie Hayter, and Rebel attacked her after the match.

– Saraya came to the ring and brawled with Britt Baker. Former AEW Women’s World Champion Riho returned to AEW and helped make the save.

– FTR (Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood) and Swerve in our Glory (Swerve Strickland and Keith Lee) both stated that they deserve a shot at the AEW World Tag Team Championship. They agreed to face off in a #1 Contender’s Match next week.

– TBS Champion Jade Cargill threatened to hijack AEW Rampage if she doensn’t get her title back. Nyla Rose previously stole the championship.

– Jay Lethal challenged Darby Allin to a rematch and, with Sonjay Dutt’s help, brutally attacked the former TNT Champion.

– The Acclaimed (Max Caster and Anthony Bowens) announced that they will put their AEW World Tag Team Championship on the line against the Varsity Athletes (Josh Woods and Tony Nese) in a Titles vs. Trademark Match on AEW Rampage. With a win, they will aim to earn the right to scissor again. Renee Paquette responded to the situation and wrote, “No scissoring and no lawsuits on my watch.”

– Renee Paquette interviewed Bryan Danielson and Wheeler Yuta. Danielson stated that, with the proper guidance, Daniel Garcia could be the best wrestler he’s seen. Yuta responded and questioned why Danielson couldn’t see that Garcia was using him. Yuta stormed off after noting that the way he bled to earn his way into the Blackpool Combat Club apparently didn’t mean anything to Danielson.

– Trent Beretta commented on the Best Friends’ loss and vowed to win the big ones someday.

– A number of names in the wrestling world wished Hangman Page well. Even MJF commented on the news by sending Page his prayers.

– Tony Schiavone also sent Hangman his best wishes.

MJF changed his mind and stated that Skyline Chili is not mid.
