Solo Sikoa Discusses His Call Up, Debuting At WWE Clash At The Castle

Solo Sikoa made an immediate impact on the main roster when he helped Roman Reigns retain the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Drew McIntyre at WWE Clash at the Castle.

Sikoa, brother of Jimmy & Jey Uso, had been part of the NXT brand, but was officially moved to the main roster when he made his presence felt at WWE Clash at the Castle, establishing himself as a member of The Bloodline.

Speaking to Peter Rosenberg on Cheap Heat, Sikoa reflected on his trip to Cardiff.

“Going to Cardiff, that was my first time meeting him,” he was when asked about working with Triple H. “At the time, he was down at NXT and when he signs new people to NXT, he’ll take a picture with them. A week before, we were getting ready to take a picture and he had some differences and something had happened. [Cardiff] was my first time meeting him. He brought him into his office and was like, ‘Hey man, welcome to Cardiff. You know this is your call up, right?’ I was like, ‘Nah, I didn’t.’ ‘Yeah, this is your call up to SmackDown. Welcome. You know what you’re doing today?’ ‘Nah, man, I don’t.’ [laughs]. ‘Okay, we’ll go over it with Roman.’ He’ll talk to me every time after the match and give me advice. I’m really happy I got the chance to meet him.”

Sikoa was signed by WWE in August 2021, which is around the time Triple H stepped away due to health issues.

When asked if he got any advice from Roman before his debut, Solo responded, “He just said, ‘Be there. Be there on the timing. If you don’t do this tonight, in the match, it’s not going to work.’ Nobody noticed that I was there in Cardiff. None of the boys noticed. Only certain people. Nobody saw me go out there under the ring. Everybody first saw me when I first came back after the spot. I remember that day, we were sitting in the locker room, quiet, I was watching him get ready for the match. I didn’t want to say anything because he was in his zone, I was in my zone, I know what I needed to do, he knew what he needed to do. ‘I just need you to be here. I need you to execute this at this time,’ and I did. It blew the roof off the place.”

Solo said Roman gave him a ‘good job’ nod when they got to the back.

Solo would briefly return to NXT on the September 13 episode to win the NXT North American Championship. He relinquished the title one week later. He is currently part of both brands as a member of The Bloodline alongside Roman, the Usos, Paul Heyman, and honorary uce Sami Zayn.
