Ric Flair: You Don’t Want To ‘Rock N Roll’ With Andrade, He’s Like Sin Cara

Last Wednesday at AEW Dynamite, an altercation reportedly occured between Sammy Guevara and Andrade El Idolo. The issues between the two stemmed from an interview Andrade did days before AEW Dynamite where he said Guevara complained about being hit too hard.

Andrade reportedly threw punches during the altercation and was sent home. Guevara remained at TV, main eventing AEW Dynamite.

Speaking on his To Be The Man podcast, Ric Flair, Andrade’s father-in-law, gave his thoughts on the incident.

“I’m family in that deal. I’ve only met Guevara one time, or twice, he was very nice to me. Pretty much how I judge people, but you don’t want to be rocking and rolling with Manny [Andrade]. I’ve been to Manny’s home, I know how he grew up. You know Sin Cara? Manny is Sin Cara. Sin Cara has beat up half the guys in the business. Manny is a very tough man. I think they feel pretty comfortable, some of the guys saying things when they know the fight is never going to get anywhere or it gets broken up and there are 1,000 people involved. Ultimately, nobody ever gets their ass whipped, but I feel comfortable in saying that wouldn’t be much of a fight. Nothing against Sammy as a wrestler, I just think Manny is a tough guy. There are not a lot of tough guys in the business anymore,” he said.

Sin Cara [Hunico, Cinta de Oro] has gotten into backstage fights with the likes of Sheamus and Chris Jericho.

It is unknown if or when Andrade will return to AEW television. He was set to face Preston Vance on the October 7 episode of AEW Rampage in a match where his AEW career was on the line.

Guevara addressed the situation, saying he wasn’t going to focus on the negative. You can find his full comments by clicking here.
