Viewership Information For The First Two Episodes Of WOW In Syndication
Viewership information has been revealed for the first two syndicated episodes of WOW following their partnership with CBS Media Ventures.
According to Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics, the inaugural episode of the latest season of WOW: Women of Wrestling which aired on September 18 was watched by 281,000 viewers in syndication. the first episode was also watched by 44,000 people in the 18 to 49 demographic resulting in a 0.03 rating.
The second episode which aired on September 25, was watched by 273,000 people and 79,000 viewers in the key demographic for a 0.06 rating.
According to the report, this puts WOW viewership over that of both IMPACT Wrestling and New Japan Pro Wrestling, which are broadcast on AXS TV. It is important to note, however, that AXS TV is only in about 39 million homes, which is approximately half of homes with cable television.
In terms of demographic information, WOW garnered a larger portion of female viewers than any nationally televised wrestling show. The show boasts a nearly 60% female audience in the key demographic for the first episode. and a more even split for the second episode. By comparison, WWE’s main roster programs average about 40% female audience and AEW shows average about 33% female audience.
