WWE SmackDown

Logan Paul confronted Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns and The Bloodline on Friday. Paul Heyman compared Paul to Mr. T and Cyndi Lauper, and he called him a male Kardashian. He noted how Jordan Peterson, Ben Shapiro, Andrew Tate could have faced Reigns, but none of them had the balls to do so. Heyman delivered the spoiler that Reigns will smash Paul at WWE Crown Jewel. Paul called Jey Uso the Tribal Chief, trying to stir up some tension with The Bloodline. It briefly work, but Sami Zayn got the group back on track. He proceeded to call Paul a giant #2 and stated that he will be a stain on Reigns’ boot when all is said and done.

– Representing The Bloodline, Solo Sikoa defeated Ricochet in a hard-fought match.

WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H kicked off the show and welcomed everyone to the season premiere of WWE SmackDown.

– Sami Zayn called Jey Uso a hothead, and Roman Reigns agreed. He told the “Honorary Uce” that it was his problem now.

A video package recapped the rivalry between SmackDown Women’s Champion Liv Morgan and Ronda Rousey ahead of their clash at Extreme Rules.

Raquel Rodriguez and Shotzi defeated Sonya Deville and Xia Li in a tag team bout.

Legado del Fantasma debuted on SmackDown by attacking Hit Row. Zelina Vega aligned with the newcomers, and Santos Escobar stated that SmackDown is theirs.

A QR code offered more hints about the White Rabbit, and a commercial teased that the mystery will culminate at WWE Extreme Rules.

– Drew McIntyre attacked Karrion Kross ahead of their Strap Match at Extreme Rules. They brawled, and Kross gained the upper hand. He whipped McIntyre with a strap and left the former WWE Champion writhing in agony.

Braun Strowman and the New Day defeated Sami Zayn and The Usos in a six-man tag team bout after Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods made fun of the Undisputed Tag Team Champions earlier in the show.

LA Knight returned on Friday night and dropped the Max Dupri name after he attacked the Maximum Male Models.

WWE Intercontinental Champion Gunther waged war with Sheamus and retained his title in a brutally physical match. The finish was somewhat controversial, as the champion seemingly tapped out, but the referee waved it off.

– WWE referee Jessika Carr stood by her decision in the title match and stated that Gunther did not tap out.

– In a WWE Digital Exclusive, Shotzi and Raquel Rodriguez discussed their newfound team and thanked Damage CTRL for uniting them.

In a WWE Digital Exclusive, Logan Paul stated that he is smarter than the entire Bloodline combined, and his upcoming match against Roman Reigns won’t be as easy as the champion thinks.

– T-Bar responded to ma.cé when the latter expressed his frustration about LA Knight’s betrayal. Seemingly referencing Retribution, he stated that groups never work.

AEW Rampage

– AEW Rampage kicked off with a competitive trios bout where AEW World Champion Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, and Wheeler Yuta teamed up to face RUSH and Private Party (Isiah Kassidy and Marq Quen). In the end, Yuta scored the win for his team.

– Tay Jay A.S. (Tay Melo & Anna Jay A.S.) defeated Skye Blue and Madison Rayne. After the bout, Rayne called Blue a star.

– Tony Nese and Josh Woods picked up a decisive victory over the Varsity Blonds (Griff Garrison and Brian Pillman Jr.). After the bout, Mark Sterling announced that he trademarked the term “varsity” in professional wrestling. He stated that Woods and Nese are now the Varsity Athletes, and if Pillman and Garrrison try to use the word, he’ll sue them. The Acclaimed (Anthony Bowens and Max Caster) then came to the ring, and Caster rapped some insults at the trio.

– Eddie Kingston didn’t seem ready to apologize for keeping his submission hold locked in too long on Sammy Guevara and attacking officials on AEW Rampage: Grand Slam.

– Death Triangle (PAC, Penta Oscuro, and Rey Fenix) defeated the Dark Order (John Silver, 10, and Alex Reynolds) to retain the AEW World Trios Championship. In the end, RUSH handed PAC the ring bell hammer, and he blasted Reynolds with it. He then locked in the Brutalizer to clinch the win.

– Evil Uno commented on the Dark Order’s loss and wondered whether the group was doomed to fail forever.

AEW Battle of the Belts IV

– PAC closed AEW Rampage with one title match and kicked off AEW Battle of the Belts IV with another. He defended the AEW All-Atlantic Championship against Trent Beretta. The two stars threw everything they had at each other. PAC again used the ring bell hammer to clinch the win. After the bout, Orange Cassidy returned and attacked the champion.

– Swerve Strickland discussed his upcoming match with Billy Gunn and stated that he doesn’t care about stealing the show; he just wants to hurt Gunn. He declared that time comes for us all, and as far as Gunn is concerned, he’s the clock.

– Jade Cargill defeated Willow Nightingale to retain the TBS Championship. After the bell, Nyla Rose stole the title and ran way with it.

– The Jericho Appreciation Society encouraged Daniel Garcia to come home, noting that they’re a family and they had to teach him a lesson when they beat the ROH Pure Champion and Bryan Danielson. Chris Jericho announced that he’s bringing back the Lionheart for his match with Bryan Danielson on AEW Dynamite.

– Ethan Page and Stokely Hathaway accused Matt Hardy of tampering with Private Party’s contracts. He denied it threatened to delete the noses off of their faces.

FTW Champion HOOK tore up the envelope The Trustbusters left for him last week.

– AEW Interim Women’s World Champion Toni Storm and Hikaru Shida commented on their upcoming bout against Britt Baker and Jamie Hayter.

– In the main event, FTR (Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood) successfully defended the ROH World Tag Team Championship against the Gates of Agony (Bishop Kaun and Toa Liona). The losing duo, along with Brian Cage, attacked the champions after the match. Wardlow tried to make the save, and Samoa Joe helped clear the ring to close the show.
