Frankie Edgar Scheduled To Face Chris Gutiérrez In Retirement Bout At UFC 281 In November
Former UFC lightweight champion, and perennial all-time great, Frankie Edgar, is scheduled to face Chris Gutiérrez in his last Octagon appearance at UFC 281 on November 12 at Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York.
ESPN’s Brett Okamoto was the first to report the news of the matchup being in the works via a tweet on Thursday night, although the promotion has not officially announced anything regarding the booking. Edgar is 2-4 in his last six fights and is coming off a third-round KO loss to Marlon Vera back at UFC 268 last November. Gutiérrez meanwhile is 6-0-1 in his last seven Octagon outings and will look to build on a second-round TKO victory over Danaa Batgerel at UFC on ESPN 33.
