Ludwig Kaiser Comments On Rumors That Vince McMahon ‘Lost Interest In Imperium’

Ludwig Kaiser sets the record straight.

GUNTHER made an immediate impact when he joined the main roster following WWE WrestleMania, winning the WWE Intercontinental Championship on the June 10 episode of SmackDown. Flanked by Ludwig Kaiser, GUNTHER was entrenched as a regular on WWE SmackDown.

Before he stepped down as WWE CEO on July 22, it was rumored that Vince McMahon had lost interest in the Imperium duo despite GUNTHER being involved in a program with Shinsuke Nakamura.

Speaking to WAZ, Kaiser was asked about the rumor.

“I don’t know anything about the rumors. It is also usually the case that we don’t let it get to us like that. From our side, we have been at Smackdown, totally satisfied. We were well received there, the feedback was consistently positive from the beginning. We can’t complain about our TV time either. If you look at what we have achieved in the few months, including Gunther’s Intercontinental Championship title, that speaks for itself. Of course, there are always rumors here and there, but many things are not true,” he said.

Speaking about McMahon’s retirement, Kaiser said, “His resignation was unimaginable. They hadn’t rumored about it before. A blatant thing, he is an absolute revolutionary and a visionary. Especially when it comes to streaming things like the WWE Network, for example. Great for us that we still had the chance to work with him, there has also been close, good cooperation in recent weeks.”

GUNTHER and Kaiser were reunited with Giovanni Vinci (formerly Fabian Aichner) at WWE Clash at the Castle, making Imperium whole again.

Imperium will battle The Brawling Brutes (Sheamus, Ridge Holland, & Butch) in a Good Old Fashioned Donnybrook at WWE Extreme Rules. Fans can view the current lineup for the event by clicking here.
