Leila Grey Names Sasha Banks & Trish Stratus As Her Inspirations In Wrestling

Leila Grey names her biggest inspirations in the world of wrestling.

Since signing a full-time deal with AEW in July, Leila Grey has quickly become a important name in the AEW women’s division. Shortly after signing, Grey joined forces with Jade Cargill and Kiera Hogan, which has led to a big turnaround in the ring in terms of wins and losses. All of these accomplishments have came to Grey quickly, as she is only three years into her wrestling career.

In a new interview with MCW Backstage Pass, Grey named Sasha Banks and Trish Stratus, along with every other baddie in pro wrestling, as her wrestling inspiration.

“Well, that’s a tricky question because like growing up, I didn’t really watch wrestling like that anymore. I watched it as a little kid and then I kind of drifted away and then found my way back to the sport. But, when I started wrestling, I really loved Sasha Banks. I really admire her and her whole attitude and her whole look. She’s definitely someone that I’m inspired by and look up to. Also, Trish Stratus, you already know. I’m inspired by all of the baddies, okay? All of the baddies of wrestling, those are the women who inspire me. Like Melina, ooh.”

Despite appearing in the majority of Jade Cargill’s promos on weekly television, Grey last wrestled for the promotion on August 21 during a set of AEW Dark tapings.

In the past, Grey has named Banks as her dream opponent. To learn more, click here.
