Braun Strowman Comments On Other Companies Reaching Out Following WWE Release

Braun Strowman was released by WWE in June 2021 despite being in a high-profile WrestleMania match against Shane McMahon and challenging for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania Backlash.

Strowman worked with Control Your Narrative while he was a free agent and appeared at ROH Final Battle as part of a CYN invasion, but did not sign with a major company. He returned to WWE on the September 5 episode of WWE Raw.

Speaking on WWE After The Bell, Strowman was asked if he talked with other companies.

“We [Strowman and his agent] talked to everybody, people reached out about stuff. I kind of play around with the ideas and I always said in interviews, and people thought I was stupid for it, ‘I will never put on a pair of boots for anybody besides WWE’ and I stuck to my word. I never put on another pair of boots. I went out, started my own thing, worked for myself, gave young talent a place to come to work, make a living, and hone their craft in CYN. I stuck my guns. I will never wrestle for anyone other than myself or WWE. Here we are, the monster is home,” he said.

Strowman interrupted a fatal four-way tag team match to make his return on WWE Raw and then took out Chad Gable and Otis on the subsequent episode of WWE SmackDown.

The four-way tag team bout to determine the next challengers for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Titles has been rescheduled for the September 16 episode of WWE SmackDown. The match will feature Street Profits (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins), New Day (Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods), Alpha Academy (Chad Gable & Otis), and Los Lotharios (Angel Garza and Humberto Carrillo).

Fightful will have live coverage of WWE SmackDown beginning at 8 p.m. ET on Friday.
