Ric Flair Discusses CM Punk’s Comments At AEW All Out Post-Show Media Scrum

Ric Flair shares his thoughts on the controversy surrounding CM Punk.

At the media scrum after AEW All Out, Punk made some heated comments about Hangman Page, Kenny Omega, and the Young Bucks. These remarks reportedly led to a physical confrontation between Punk and the latter trio.

Speaking on his podcast, To Be The Man, Flair discussed the scrum and the subsequent fight.

“I’ve been watching this from afar. It’s very entertaining. If it’s entertainment the fans want, it’s entertainment they’re getting, and Punk is giving a lot of it,” Flair said.

The WWE Hall of Famer noted that he barely talked to Punk when they were in WWE together, and he was long gone by the time the latter had issues with the company. But he made it clear that he likes the old-school way Punk handled his business at the scrum.

“He’s creating excitement now, and if he’s not afraid to say it…. I like the way he said I’ll walk down the hall and be ready. That’s Harley Race talking right there. I don’t if he’s that tough but [laughs] I love it. That’s old-time stuff right there, it is. You got a problem with me, you can find me, right there in the building,” he said.

Flair then discussed his own experience with backstage melees in the locker room, at least the ones he’s been aware of. He stated that he thought it was cool how Punk told anyone who had a problem with him to come find him. The legend also noted that he’s never had a problem with Omega and the Young Bucks himself, so he doesn’t know where the heat came from.

“I actually thought it was pretty cool if what I’m told, and I don’t know about who won the fight or who did what, but the fact that Punk said, ‘I’m here in the building if you wanna find me,’ something like that, I like that. It’s probably not what Tony or anybody wants to hear, but if he has the courage to say that and he feels that strongly about somebody, hey, I don’t blame him for saying it. I don’t know. I like Omega and I like the Young Bucks, so I don’t know what the heat could possibly be. They seem to me like really easy guys to get along with, but I don’t know them that well. For me, it’s how they treat me as an individual, and they treat me great. I had a chance to be around Kenny a lot when he wrestled [Andrade] in Mexico and really got to know him pretty good, and Young Bucks have always been awesome. So I don’t know. CM Punk, I don’t know him. But he said it and I don’t know anything about Colt Cabana. I have no idea what’s going on there. He seems to be under Punk’s skin a little bit. I know nothing about that,” Flair said.

Everyone involved in the melee has reportedly been suspended, and Punk also had surgery earlier this week.

Like Flair, Booker T also weighed in on the situation. You can check out his comments here.
