Here is your fight size update for WWE Friday Night SmackDown and AEW Rampage on Friday, September 2, 2022:

WWE SmackDown

– The Viking Raiders defeated the New Day in a hard-fought Viking Rules match. In the end, the powerhouses slammed Xavier Woods through two tables with the Ragnarok to clinch the win.

– Drew McIntyre ended the night standing tall, the day before WWE Clash at the Castle. He laid out Roman Reigns and The Bloodline, ruining the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion’s celebration of his two-year reign.

-WWE SmackDown Liv Morgan told Shayna Baszler, her challenger at Clash at the Castle, that she wouldn’t tap out on Sunday. She stated that she’d rip Baszler’s arm off.

– Happy Corbin’s bad luck continued when he issued an open challenge and lost to Shinsuke Nakamura. But his night ended on a promising note when he got into a limo that seemingly belonged to WWE Hall of Famer JBL.

– Karrion Kross made his in-ring debut on SmackDown and dominated Drew Gulak. To add extra emphasis, he tied him up in the ring ropes after the bout.

– Adam Pearce revealed that Ronda Rousey’s suspension is over. When he called her a bitch, she attacked him and locked him in an arm-bar.

– Several video packages throughout the show looked back on Roman Reigns’ remarkable title reign.

– Hit Row beat the Maximum Male Models, despite some interference from Los Lotharios. After the match, the Street Profits made the save when Angel and Humberto attacked Hit Row.

– Butch picked up the victory in a competitive match against Ludwig Kaiser.

– In a WWE Digital Exclusive, Hit Row stated that the competition is “big mad” following their victory. They also made it clear that they have a problem with Los Lotharios.

– Meanwhile, the Viking Raiders vowed to continue their path of destruction.

AEW Rampage

– The Motor City Machine Guns made their AEW debut. While Chris Sabin has already appeared, Alex Shelley arrived on Friday night. The former TNA/IMPACT World Tag Team Champions sent a message to FTR ahead of All Out, noting that while their opponents might have more gold and more money, they have the locker room’s respect.

– Ricky Starks picked up a big win over QT Marshall, despite The Factory’s interference. After the match, he brawled with Powerhouse Hobbs, his opponent at AEW All Out.

– Blake Christian received a major opportunity when he made his AEW TV debut; he lost to Rey Fenix in a singles match.

– Ortiz and Ruby Soho defeated Sammy Guevara and Tay Melo to earn a shot at the AAA World Mixed Tag Team Championship at AEW All Out.

– Eddie Kingston previewed his match with Tomohiro Ishii at AEW All Out and told him to bring everything he has.

– Angelo Parker told FTW Champion HOOK that he wants a taste of the gold ahead of their clash at All Out. He wondered what would happen if he “exposed” the myth of HOOK on Sunday.

Hangman Page and the Dark Order defeated Orange Cassidy and the Best Friends to advance to the finals of the AEW World Trios Championship Tournament.

– After the bout, Don Callis told Hangman that he was impressed with the way he “screwed” his friends, The Young Bucks, by choosing the Dark Order instead.

– Athena sent a heated message to TBS Champion Jade Cargill ahead of their match at All Out, with the challenger telling the latter that she’ll be fighting for all the women Cargill disrespects.

– The Acclaimed vowed to win the AEW World Tag Team Championship at All Out, while Swerve in our Glory told them that the time for jokes and raps will be over on Sunday.

– At the end of the show, Bryan Danielson stared down Chris Jericho as tensions rose leading into their match at AEW All Out.
