Block Winners Determined In NJPW G1 Climax 32, Semifinal Matches Set

The semifinals are set in the NJPW G1 Climax 32.

For the first time ever, NJPW moved to four blocks for its annual G1 Climax tournament with seven competitors in each block. The semifinals will see Kazuchika Okada face Tama Tonga and Will Ospreay battle Tetsuya Naito. 

Block A was won by Kazuchika Okada, who finished with a 5-1 record (10 points), defeating Lance Archer on the final night of block competition to win his block. 

Block B was won by Tama Tonga, who also finished with a 5-1 record (10 points). Tonga defeated Jay White on the final night of block competition. White entered the match against Tama with a 5-0 record. Though they both finished with 10 points, Tama won the tiebreaker when he defeated White. 

Okada and Tonga will face in one semifinal bout. 

Block C was won by Tetsuya Naito, who finished with a 4-2 record (8 points). He defeated Zack Sabre Jr (4-2, 8 points) on the final night of block competition to win the tiebreaker. 

Block D was won by Will Ospreay, who finished with a 4-2 record (8 points) after defeating Juice Robinson on the final night of block competition. Shingo Takagi had a chance to win the block, but lost to El Phantasmo and ultimately finished with a 3-3 record (6 points). 

Ospreay will face Naito in the other semifinal bout.
