AJ Styles: I Want IMPACT And AEW To Do Well, You Never Know Who Might Show Up In WWE
AJ Styles talks about competition and the current state of professional wrestling.
There was a time when it was thought that AJ Styles would never be in WWE. For the latter part of the last decade, AJ Styles has been one of the top stars in WWE, and now, he is wishing the best for everyone in AEW and IMPACT, arguably the original house that AJ Styles built.
Speaking with Inside The Ropes, AJ Styles reflected on sending in a video for IMPACT Slammiversary 2022 and wanting the best for all the wrestling competition out there.
“I’m glad I got the opportunity. I still want IMPACT Wrestling to do well. I want AEW to do well. Competition is a good thing, it makes everybody better, there that. We want to see people succeed and to tell the truth, I have friends in every company, I would like to see them do well. So, they have my support, just like anybody else. I want to see them do well, I don’t want to see anyone lose their job and you never know who might show up in WWE.”
Speaking about AEW, AJ Styles said he never really considered leaving WWE and more so opted for a player option in 2019 when he was being courted by the upstart promotion.
“I didn’t really sign a new deal. Basically, I had a player option and I just used that option. I had no plans, really, looking back. I want to be with WWE. As much as I’d like to be with my friends see, this is what I know. I know what is expected of me, I understand what they need from me here in WWE and I want to be a part of it.”
In the past, it was said that the original plans for the first episode of AEW Dynamite could have seen AJ Styles, Karl Anderson, and Luke Gallows attack The Elite in Madison Square Garden. Learn more here.
