Here is your post-NXT 2.0 fight size update for August 9.

Here is your post-NXT 2.0 fight size update for August 9.

– In a Digital Exclusive, Nikkita Lyons and Zoey Stark discussed the news that they will compete in the tournament for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship Tournament. Lyons stated that they have the opportunity of a lifetime, while Stark noted that they have the advantage because they’re the unknown team. She vowed that they will show the world who they are.

– Wes Lee and Trick Williams duked it out in a Rounds Match, and despite Carmelo Hayes’ best efforts to tip the outcome in his hype man’s corner, Lee scored the victory.

– Apollo Crews has a problem with the way Roderick Strong has been treating the Creed Brothers. He has been trying to help the duo, and Strong interrupted a tape study session on Tuesday. Strong was upset, and he got into a confrontation with Crews, who challenged him to a match. After a hard-fought contest, Crews pinned Strong for the impressive win. Later in the show, Strong confronted the Creed Brothers and smashed their laptop. In the process, he destroyed the tape of the eight-man tag team match where the D’Angelo Family defeated the Diamond Mine.

– Lyons scored a measure of revenge by defeating Kiana James in a singles match. The latter previously criticized the fan-favorite with a harsh presentation about her flaws. But the time for talk was over on Tuesday, and Lyons picked up the win. After the bout, James blindsided her foe by hitting her with a handbag.

– Solo Sikoa learned that he’ll be out of action for at least four weeks with a sprained PCL.

– Tony D’Angelo and Santos Escobar verbally faced off in their Final Accord and agreed to face off in a high-stakes Street Fight next week. If Escobar wins, Legado del Fantasma will earn its freedom. But if Escobar loses, he’ll have to leave NXT.

– Wendy Choo isn’t done with Tiffany Stratton yet. She snuck into her rival’s dressing room, turned the lights out and, aided by night vision goggles, attacked her. She then stated that “this isn’t over.”

– Joe Gacy and The Dyad kept trying to recruit Cameron Grimes. When he said he’s going home, Gacy asked, “To who?” Grimes responded by walking off into the night.

– Yulisa Leon and Valentina Feroz asked Sanga for advice. NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions Kayden Carter and Katana Chance arrived and stated that they’ll be fighting champions, so they’d have no problem defending the gold against them. Sanga then told the prospective challenges to clear their mind.

– Chase University handles its business in the ring. Arianna Grace approached Andre Chase when she got a black eye due to a game of catch between Bodhi Hayward and Thea Hail. After he used some colorful language, he solved the dispute by arranging a match between the two women, noting that he had the power to do so because the incident happened on school grounds. In the end, Grace emerged victorious as she spoiled Hail’s in-ring debut on NXT.

– NXT North American Champion Carmelo Hayes discussed his win over Nathan Frazer last week, saying he got stepped on like everybody else. Frazer’s music played, but Giovanni Vinci interrupted. He noted that Frazer stole his opportunity, so he wants a shot at Hayes’ title. Hayes responded by telling Vinci that he sees the potential, but he’s not “him.” He vowed to put Vinci on a T-shirt next week. They briefly brawled until they were separated.

–  Lash Legend approached Malik Blade backstage and asked if he saw her match last week. Later in the show, Legend kept talking about it, and Edris Enofe showed up, so Lash told him about it, too. Enofe eventually made it clear that he’d had enough, and Pretty Deadly interrupted as they took issue with the disrespect toward Legend. The disagreement set up a match between the two teams. Briggs and Jensen came to ringside during the match and tried to stop Pretty Deadly from using a chair. But Blake accidentally crashed into the steel, and Pretty Deadly capitalized by hitting the Spilled Milk for the win. Legend then attacked Fallon Henley and walked off with Pretty Deadly.

– Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne discussed how they came up short in their mission to win the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship last week. Dolin described how she does things her way, and she won’t change. She stated that they’re wounded, but wounded animals are the most dangerous. In a tweet, Jayne teased that change is coming.

– Grayson Waller interrupted Apollo Crews’ interview and wanted to know why he was there. Waller said Crews wasn’t welcome in NXT, and he wouldn’t mind running him out of NXT; after all, he’s done it to someone before. Waller drove the point home in a tweet; he stated that NXT isn’t Crews’ home anymore, and he’ll kick him out the same way he got rid of “Johnny Twitch Stream.”

– In the main event, Zoey Stark defeated Cora Jade. Roxanne Perez stopped Jade from using a weapon at the end of the match, and the distracted helped Stark clinch the win.

– After the match, Perez confronted Jade and chased her to the back ahead of their clash at NXT Heatwave.

– Likewise, NXT Women’s Champion Mandy Rose tried to attack Stark, her opponent at Heatwave, but the challenger had it scouted and left Rose lying to close the show.

– In a Digital Exclusive, Lee shared his thoughts about his win over Williams. He said it was just another curveball that he had to overcome. He noted that he always brings his best self to the ring, and that’s exactly what he did on Tuesday.

– Pretty Deadly commented on their alliance with Lash Legend in a Digital Exclusive. They stated that they’re the main course and the two tastiest snacks in NXT, but they appreciated a lovely, beautiful appetizer like Legend. She responded by thanking them and saying they should go get pedicures together.
