Daniel Garcia Stuns Bryan Danielson, Rosa Retains, Josh Woods Aligns With Nese | Post-AEW Fight Size

This week’s episode of AEW Dynamite featured three title matches, an unexpected betrayal, and a stunning main event.

Here is your Fight Size update following the July 27 episode of AEW Dynamite

– Daniel Garcia picked up one of the biggest wins of his career in the main event when he faced the returning Bryan Danielson. Though he missed several weeks due to an injury, the former world champion didn’t have any ring rust. However, thanks to a timely assist from Jake Hager, Garcia scored the win by making Danielson pass out.

– Miyu Yamashita previously defeated Thunder Rosa, but when the gold was on the line on Wednesday, Rosa emerged victorious at the end of a hard-fought battle.

– AEW World Tag Team Champions Swerve Strickland and Keith Lee have an unexpected threat on their hands. On Wednesday, Strickland defeated Tony Nese and Mark Sterling in a handicap match. After the bout, the video screen showed Josh Woods standing over Keith Lee in the aftermath of a clear assault. Nese then blindsided a distracted Strickland and briefly grabbed one of the tag titles to express his interest in the gold.

– Jon Moxley retained the AEW Interim World Championship against RUSH on Wednesday, and he already has another defense lined up. Chris Jericho demanded a rematch for the title, and Moxley accepted, saying he wants to face the “Lionheart” version of Jericho.

– Wednesday’s show featured three title matches, but only one of them changed hands. Ricky Starks beat Danhausen to retain the FTW Championship, but when he issued an open challenge, HOOK defeated him to win the gold.

– Starks’ misfortune continued after the match when his Team Taz partner Powerhouse Hobbs betrayed him and slammed him to the mat, seemingly ending their alliance in the process.

– Jungle Boy finally responded to Christian Cage by calling him a pussy and noting that he’s broke because his wife divorced him. Cage interrupted and promised to put Jungle Boy in the grave, right next to his father.

– Dante Martin tried to even the odds in his match against Sammy Guevara by having Skye Blue come to the ring with him. But in the end, Conti distracted him long enough to help the former TNT Champion clinch the win. After the match, Eddie Kingston, Ruby Soho, and Ortiz saved Martin and Blue from a beatdown.
