Charlotte Flair Says Smackdown Is The Show She Is “Going To Want To Be On”
Charlotte Flair says her competitive nature will drive her to make Smackdown successful.
Flair was moved to Smackdown as part of the Superstar Shakeup. While she was on Raw, she held the Women's championship four times and experienced a long pay-per-view winning streak. She told Sporting News about her "mindset" when she left Raw for Smackdown. Flair said she will be part of Smackdown's women's division becoming the best of the two brands.
“I've established myself on Raw. So I feel moving to a different brand, the pressure of reestablishing myself with a whole new group of women and figuring out where my character goes on SmackDown. I can’t speak for the other women on Raw or Smackdown but I know, for myself, personally, the minute I left Raw Monday night I said to myself Smackdown is the women’s division that you’re going to want to be on. That’s my mindset. Yes, competition is in full effect because that’s kind of the point of having two brands. Obviously, I want both brands to do well but I’m just that competitive. I want the Smackdown women to do extremely well and let’s see what we can do," said Flair.
Smackdown's roster also includes Becky Lynch, who Flair had experience with at NXT and in WWE before the brand-split. Flair said she is excited to be on the show with Lynch; She called Lynch "one of the leading women on Smackdown." Flair also discussed the days when her and Lynch teamed with Paige and her Wrestlemania 33 entrance.
