Jake Paul Says a fight with Conor McGregor Has to Happen – McGregor Calls him a Nobody

It is not yet known whether the five victories in professional boxing, among them against Tyron Woodley, former UFC welterweight champion, did good or bad for the famous YouTuber Jake Paul. The provocations made on social media are very courageous. On the other hand, they can be quite dangerous.

In an interview with the program “The MMA Hour,” Paul said about the fight against the Irishman and what happened. Jake Paul has 5 wins in 5 boxing matches, three against former MMA champions: Tyron Woodley twice and Ben Askren. McGregor is having a bad time in the UFC, with three losses in his last four fights.

The Irishman has already taken a risk in the ring against Floyd Mayweather in 2017, being knocked out by the boxing legend. For matches like these, or if the McGregor vs Jake Paul match would happen, you can follow UFC betting expert tipsters at OLBG to see their picks’ in any upcoming matches.

The Disagreements

Jake Paul‘s assertion that a battle between the two “must happen” was met with laughter from McGregor, who referred to the YouTube star as “nothing.”

The 25-year-old Paul won all five professional boxing fights by knockout, including his previous opponent and former UFC champion Tyron Woodley.

McGregor, the first fighter to hold that title in the mixed martial arts organization, is a former UFC double-weight champion. In his only professional bout, the 33-year-old was stopped by Floyd Mayweather in 2017.

The Irishman has long been the focus of Paul, who has suggested they square off in a boxing ring as opposed to the Octagon.

Paul said, “Yes, absolutely. I fought a few more times, continuing to knock out some people. And he has to get active again. Who knows when that will happen? I think those two things need to happen, and it has to happen at some point. You know, why not? He’s a businessman, I’m a businessman, and that’s $75-100 million for both of us.”

The MMA Hour’s host, MMA Fighting, tweeted the above excerpt from Paul’s interview, and McGregor took issue with the YouTuber’s remarks.

“You had 2 fights and 70k purchases,” McGregor wrote alongside a laughing emoji. “You’re a failure, boy. A nobody.”

Paul was scheduled to fight Tommy Fury, the half-brother of heavyweight boxing champion Tyson, on August 6 at Madison Square Garden in New York. Still, the British fighter withdrew owing to travel issues. When Paul is prepared, Hasim Rahman Jr., the son of Lennox Lewis’ 2001 opponent and former boxing champion Hasim Rahman, will take against him.

McGregor is healing from a fractured leg he sustained in his second consecutive defeat to Dustin Poirier last year. In January 2021, the American dealt McGregor his first professional defeat by KO, and in their subsequent meeting in July of last year, the Irishman sustained a terrible leg injury. Early in 2023 is when McGregor is anticipated to make a comeback in the Octagon.

Paul Didn’t Like The Way Mcgregor Referred To Him

Short and blunt, McGregor referred to Jake as a failure and, not satisfied, called him a nobody. Dissatisfied with the stance of ‘Notorious,’ the celebrity reciprocated heavily. On his social networks (check the video here), the YouTuber released a video in which he detonated the disaffection. In the material, the internet star attacks the former UFC champion professionally and personally.

It is worth noting that Jake always mentioned McGregor as the main target in boxing, and, with that, he never left the former UFC champion alone. And the YouTuber should not give up trying to convince the MMA icon to face him in the ring, even with the latter minimizing his importance in combat sports and declaring he has no interest in the duel.

Jake Paul, 25, is still at the beginning of his boxing career, and, so far, his results in the ring are impressive. In good form in the sport, the YouTuber had five fights, won all of them, four by knockout, left behind names like Ben Askren and Tyron Woodley (twice), and earned millionaire purses in his appearances.
