Goldberg Considers It An Honor That Wardlow Is Being Compared To Him

Goldberg talks about Wardlow.

Wardlow has had a dominant rise week in and week out on TNT and TBS television in AEW. Over two decades ago, Goldberg was experiencing the same meteoric rise on the same networks. In fact, Wardlow won his first AEW TNT Championship 24 years to the day after Bill Goldberg defeated Hollywood Hulk Hogan to capture his first World Championship.

Goldberg, during an interview with Graham “GSM” Matthews of Bleacher Report, opened up about the comparisons between himself and Wardlow saying that while he hasn’t watched any of his matches, Goldberg is aware of Wardlow and considers it an honor that someone at the top of their game and on the rise would draw comparisons to his own career.

“I understand the comparisons. I’ve heard of him for sure. I’ve seen pictures of him. I haven’t seen him work that much. But, hey, man, more power to him. There needs to be more characters like that. There needs to be serious intensity out there. There’s people that slice meat and there’s people that eat meat and he needs to be eating meat — now Big E is going to come into it. But yeah, man , I don’t know. I’ve never read anything about a comparison from him and how he passes judgment on it. But at the end of the day, anybody that’s close to the top in their prospective business to be compared with myself. That’s an honor and a privilege,” said Goldberg.

Recently, Goldberg opened up about still being under WWE contract. He says he is just waiting for that phone call. Learn more here.
