Rosemary On Teaming With Taka Valkyrie: Prison Humbled Her, She’s Different Now
Rosemary says she teamed up with Taka Valkyrie because the latter is different in the aftermath of her time in prison.
Rosemary says that, somehow, the rehabilitation process in prison worked for Taya Valkyrie because it made her more trustworthy.
Valkyrie’s previous run ended in January 2021, when she was revealed as the culprit in the shooting of John E. Bravo. At the time, Tommy Dreamer noted that she’d either be sent to Jacksonville State Prison or Stamford Correctional. In doing so, IMPACT wrote her before the former Knockouts Champion’s ultimately signed with WWE. More than a year later, Valkyrie returned to IMPACT, after WWE released her the previous November, to begin a new chapter of her career.
“La Wera Loca” eventually joined forces with Rosemary, Bravo’s bride, and the unlikely duo won the IMPACT Knockouts Tag Team Championship by defeating The Influence at Slammiversary.
During an appearance on Bison Talks IMPACT, Rosemary was asked about her alliance with Valkyrie. She stated that the latter’s time in prison worked wonders, which is why she agreed to team up with her.
“We have been going on about no more humans, but just something told us that we could trust the Valkyrie again. Something’s different, and obviously it worked. [She was] incarcerated in your human prisons. We’re not quite sure what sort of rehabilitation process goes on up there. But there was something different about her when she came back. Something more trustworthy, less selfish. Her intentions were very much always the Valkyrie before. Now it seemed that there was perhaps a humbling in prison? She was much more equal, yes, and knowing that a partnership had to be just that, and perhaps just enough to give your species another chance,” said Rosemary.
Valkyrie and Rosemary successfully defended the titles against The Influence at IMPACT Against All Odds. Despite their previous differences, they have clearly formed a winning team.
