Backstage notes
– Ariya Daivari and Curtis Axel have not been on run sheets for weeks now. We’re told as of right now, WWE is not using them.
– Internally the match was still listed as Drew McIntyre vs. Sheamus for Smackdown
– After being corrected following months of misspelling as “Ludvig,” Ludwig Kaiser’s name was again misspelled internally this week.
– The original plan was to have Axel and Ariya on a more permanent basis, but scaling back has producers pulling double and triple duty in some cases.
– Senior Producer Jason Jordan was producing multiple matches on Raw, including a TV match, which is rare these days.
– Lashley vs. Theory with Michael Hayes producing was the listed Smackdown dark match main event
– Petey Williams produced Xia Li vs. Raquel Rodriguez for the Smackdown pre-show dark match
– The Raw dark match was Rollins vs. Riddle with Jason Jordan producing.
– Cedric Alexander vs. T-Bar (Adam Pearce produced) and Mustafa Ali vs. Veer (produced by Abyss) were filmed for Main Event.
– We’re told the American Flag was to be avoided being used in the cookout segments on Raw, stars and stripes were fine, but the actual flag was requested to be avoided if possible.
– The original plan was for Otis to throw up on Chad Gables wrestling shoes/boots, as opposed to projectile vomiting. I’m sure you all wanted to know that.
