Number One Contender For Interim AEW Championship Determined During 7/1 AEW Rampage
Jon Moxley’s first challenger for the Interim AEW World Title has been decided.
The July 1 episode of AEW Rampage was kicked-off by a 20-Man Battle Royal dubbed the Royal Rampage. The winner of the bout would earn the right to challenge Jon Moxley for the Interim AEW World Championship next Wednesday on Dynamite.
Moxley won the belt last weekend at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door, defeating Hiroshi Tanahashi in the main event. This match came about after AEW Champion CM Punk revealed that he had a broken foot and would be out of action for an extended period of time.
The final two competitors left in the match were Brody King and Darby Allin. Brody would win the match after apply a choke hold to Darby while on the apron and then dropping him onto the floor. This will be the first title that Brody will challenge for in AEW since joining the company in January.
