Bruce Buffer Would Love To Be Ring Announcer For McGregor/Mayweather Jr. Fight

Bruce Buffer is the legendary ring announcer for the UFC, having been with the company for over two decades now.

If the long rumored super fight ever takes place between UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather Jr., the ring announcer would love to play a role at the event alongside his brother.

“You know, again, anything's possible,” Buffer said to TMZ Sports. “I mean, if you ask me 'Would I love to announce the fight?' If you remember, in Pacquiao & Mayweather, my brother, Michael Buffer (whom I managed for him to be in the ring), and he was there along with Jimmy Lennon Jr. And Jimmy introduced Mayweather and Michael introduced Pacquiao. Well, depending who's promoting this pay-per-view, is it Showtime? Is it UFC? I mean, who are the powers that be calling the shots? Then we'll see. I mean, I would love to announce with my brother, Michael Buffer. That would just be an incredible thing to do and we'd have a blast working together.”

Even though he is primarily known for his UFC announcing duties, the ring announcer has also done announcing jobs for boxing events as well.

Buffer does believe there is a chance it could happen for him and if it does, this would be an opportunity he would jump at.

“Just like this fight, there's a chance for everything,” Buffer continued. “If you wanted to ask me if I'd like to do it? Of course I would, why wouldn’t I?”

The famed UFC ring announcer will be seen next this Saturday Night at UFC On Fox 24.
