Kenny Omega Says Cody Rhodes Will Still Be In AEW: Fight Forever Console Video Game
Kenny Omega says AEW’s first foray into console gaming will represent the company from its infancy, despite the regular changes in the locker room.
AEW, a little more than a year after its launch, announced that they were working with Yuke’s on a console video game. Since the game was announced in December of 2020, the locker room has undergone many changes. From the addition of names like Bryan Danielson, CM Punk, and Adam Cole to the departure of names like Joey Janela, Stu Grayson, and Cody & Brandi Rhodes, All Elite Wrestling has a much different locker room than when the company started.
Speaking with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Kenny Omega revealed that Cody Rhodes, despite returning to WWE at WrestleMania 38, will be a part of the upcoming video games roster.
“This may come as a surprise to people, but Cody is still in the game,” Omega said. “I was very passionate about making sure his legacy and position within the company were preserved.
“We’ve built this game from the ground up, starting everything from scratch. That’s why I thought this game could coincide with the birth of this company. You get to experience AEW from the beginning, from day one. The game is going to reflect a lot of that, even though our locker room is ever-changing.”
Previously, it was discussed that an attempt was made to get Cody Rhodes into WWE 2K22. Learn more here.
As for the many names that have entered AEW since the announcement of the video game, Tony Khan previously said that there will be DLC additions to the roster. Read more here.
