Jay White On AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door: I Don’t Give A Shit About That Dream Match Stuff

A not-so-subtle message from Jay White.

The wrestling world is all abuzz about AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door. Competitors from New Japan Pro-Wrestling will be facing the very best of All Elite Wrestling in a showcase of potential dream matches. It’s already known that an interim AEW World Champion will be determined as Jon Moxley will face either Hiroshi Tanahashi or Hirooki Goto, but there are still many names yet to officially have a spot on the card.

Switchblade Jay White, the man that helped announce the card in the first place, does not have a match on the card yet. He could potentially be involved in the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship match if he defeats Kazuchika Okada at Dominion. However, White is already convinced that he is going to be the champion and he says he doesn’t care about dream matches. He only cares about money and championship belts.

“No. I don’t give a sh*t about the ‘dream match’ stuff. It’s all about money and championships, and by the time I go to the United Center I will have *the* championship,” White tells NJPW’s website. “So why would I care after that? Everyone else should be fighting to have a dream match with me, and BULLET CLUB and the Undisputed Elite will own the show just like we own the wrestling world,” said White.

Jay White and Adam Cole have a great relationship and Jai White claims that Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa were never fans of acknowledging the past in Bullet Club. now, Jay White says the current generation of Bullet Club is the “get paid” era for the group.

“Tama and Tanga Loa, they wouldn’t let that kind of thing happen. They were an impediment to that growth. They had to go. This is just a recipe for success. Tama Tonga liked to talk about different eras in BULLET CLUB. Now that we have the Good Brothers back, Rock Hard Juice Robinson, everything they bring to the table? You can say this is the ‘get paid era’ for BULLET CLUB.”

Speaking about the addition of Ace Austin to the group, White says that the current X-Division Championship adds another layer of prestige to the group and further proves that he is the “Catalyst of Professional Wrestling.”

“Prestige! That’s the X Division Champion. When I was in IMPACT I could see the potential in him, and the sky’s the limit. So with him and Chris Bey, and the Good Brothers running things in IMPACT? Like I said, it’s a recipe for success. That’s why I’m the Catalyst of Professional Wrestling, because I can make these things happen across all these different companies. Nobody could even imagine what I’m doing now.”

Karl Anderson recently revealed that behind the scenes, it was a Scott D’Amore call to have Ace Austin added to the group. Learn more here.
