Ricky Starks Values And Appreciates Advice From William Regal
William Regal is one of the most respected minds in the wrestling business and he has shared his knowledge with anyone who has sought advice since he joined AEW.
Ricky Starks has had a relationship with Regal dating back to Starks doing extra work in 2012 and the two still have plenty of chats in AEW because Regal knows his advice won’t fall on deaf ears.
“There’s been times where I’ve spent over an hour speaking to Mr. Regal. And we are familiar with each other. Funny enough, he was the guy that was there when I first did my extra work for WWE back in 2012. He was there each step of my career and he’s seen the growth in me. It’s great to talk to him now in this kind of environment and hear his perspective on things. End of the day, that’s all I ask from somebody. Treat me with the type of respect I’m giving, and Mr. Regal does that,” Starks told Alex McCarthy of TalkSPORT.
He continued by saying, “Sometimes I go there really early and see him and Bryan [Danielson] go over some stuff with some people. I don’t want to bother them, but then I’m brought in and engaged. That means a lot to me. He doesn’t have to do that, but he thinks of me in a way where he knows I’ll value and appreciate the advice.”
Starks previously noted that he still seeks advice from Cody Rhodes and praised Sonjay Dutt for understanding him and his creativity. You can find his full comments by clicking here.
Regal and Starks had a rough night at AEW Double or Nothing as Regal’s Blackpool Combat Club lost Anarchy in the Arena to the Jericho Appreciation Society and Starks & Powerhouse Hobbs failed to capture the AEW Tag Team Championships.
