Magomed Bibulatov Downplays Relationship With Chechen Republic Leader
Former World Series Of Fighting Flyweight Champion Magomed Bibulatov made a successful promotional debut at UFC 210, defeating Jenel Lausa.
Bibulatov is also known for his alleged relationship with Chechen Republic Leader Ramzan Kadyrov, a relationship the fighter is downplaying.
“I’m not a politician; I’m not into politics,” Bibulatov said after the event. “I’m an athlete. I don’t have any time for anything else except my training and fighting. I can’t really answer any of your questions.”
If one were to go to Bibulatov’s UFC.com profile, he lists the human rights violator and honor killing advocator as his hero.
Political situation aside, the victorious fighter felt like he had a great performance at UFC 210.
“I think my performance was great overall,” Bibulatov said. “I worked hard, had a long camp, good preparation, a lot of support, a lot of pressure from fans back home – a lot of people with a big crowd with me back home.”
During his time in the WSOF, the UFC veteran did win the promotion’s flyweight championship, but the promotion let him go and the title has never been defended. Bibulatov is just one of several champions that have left the promotion over the last few months.
