Paul Wight Wants To Team With Or Wrestle Wardlow In AEW

Paul Wight wants to work with Wardlow in every conceivable way.

Formerly known as The Big Show, Paul Wight has had his day in the sun as the young monstrous heel that legends such as Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage worked to help get over. Now, in AEW, Paul is selective about when he wrestles but he has a number of individuals he wants to work with the first one that comes to mind is Wardlow.

Paul Wight named several dream opponents while speaking with Submission Radio.

“I mean, Wardlow obviously, at some point, I’d like to act I’d like to do some kind of a thing, or I could tag with Wardlow just so I can kind of work with him as a team. I think there’s a lot of fun we can have there,” said Wight. “When I look at guys, I was it’s funny because a lot of this too, would be me being a heel and I don’t know if I’m gonna be able to pull that off. But I’ve had more turns to NASCAR. So there’s a lot of great talent you’ve been working with, like Kenny Omega, and Hangman Page, I would love to work with Dante Martin, and Ricky Starks. Darby Allin, oh my god, I would love to be a heel with some heat and work with Darby Allin. Like I mean, I think I could cause a riot with Darby. ‘Muderhawk’ Lance [Archer]. I’d love to work with him just because he’s a big monster.”

Paul understands that it’s mostly about growing the younger talent of AEW and letting them have their moment in the sun. Overall, Paul says he is at peace with what he’s accomplished in his career.

“We’ve got a there’s a lot of younger talent there that I want to mix it up with but it’s finding the right scenario to mix it up,” said Paul. “Because, let’s be honest, you don’t need it doesn’t do any good for me to go on and beat up a younger talent at this stage of the game for me, you know what I mean? I need to find a way that it makes sense to enhance that talent and elevate that talent. So it’s in this situation, I think a lot of less is more. But there’s a lot of guys that, I tell the young kids, when you’re driving down the road have matches with guys in your head. So when you get to work with them Sunday, you’ll already have an idea of what you want to do. Because you have to be thinking about this business. So I’ve already done that since I’ve been in AEW, I’ve had matches with certain guys in my head, like Kenny Omega and stuff like that. I’ve had those matches in my mind already of what I’d like to do, and, and what story I’d like to tell. So yeah, I’m excited. But you know, we’ll see how things go. Of course, for me, I’m very focused on growing the AEW product and AEW talent. That’s first and foremost. I mean, I’m pretty confident in what I’ve done in my career. So I’m good. But right now, it’s about having fun and building AEW.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Paul Wight spoke about being open to a potential Tag Team Championship run in AEW if he could be paired with the right young person. Learn more here.
