UFC 210 Draws Sellout Of 17,110 And $2 Million Gate
UFC 210 was the first event in Buffalo since UFC 7 in 1995 due to MMA being banned in the state of New York until 2016.
Fans came out in droves as the UFC announced the event as a sellout of 17,110 people with a $2 million gate which Dana White said was a record for the Keybank Center for a sporting event.
In the main event, Daniel Cormier defeat Anthony Johnson by second-round submission to retain the UFC light heavyweight championship. The co-main event was clouded in controversy as Gegard Mousasi defeated Chris Weidman by second-round TKO. Mousasi landed a knee while Weidman had one hand on the ground. Weidman had two hands on the ground and Mousasi lifted Weidman's arms up and kneed him. Referee Dan Miragliotta put a halt to the action thinking Weidman had two hands on the mat.
The attendance for UFC 210 was the highest of 2017 for a pay-per-view and the gate was the lowest for three PPV events.
White didn't announce when the company would come back to Buffalo.
