Top Five MMA Prospects to Keep on Your Radar This Year

The year has started on a good note, and we’ve had some exciting fights in the UFC over the past couple of months. And as time went on, we would see more fights happen. As a result, it is exciting to back the favorites through Points Spread Betting at your favorite sports betting sites.

As we enter into the hot season of fights, we are keeping an eye on different prospects showing signs of incredible skills. We will keep looking at the different fighters and how they progress through the ranks. It will still be a long way out for these fighters, but we think they have what it takes. Therefore, here are five interesting prospects you should keep on your radar this year.

Alex Pereira

Although Alex Pereira has made a name for himself as a kickboxer, winning two kickboxing world championship titles and winning 21 out of his 40 fights through knockout, Alex Pereira is relatively new to the UFC world. He came on to the scene in November 2021 against Andreas Michailidis, who he battered and gave a devastating knockout in the second round.

Even though we’ve seen what he can do as a kickboxer, it was surprising to see how good he was in the UFC. We saw some world-class grappling skills, and he has been on a roll since his first fight. Undoubtedly, we look forward to what he brings to the UFC as the year continues, and we think he should also be on your radar.

Ilia Topuria

Another fighter that we’re keeping tabs on is Illia Topuria. He is working hard to make a name in the UFC with the nickname, El Matador. He is a German-born Georgian MMA fighter with plenty to prove, and his fight against Ryan Hall showed his hunger. He delivered an outstanding iron-fisted knockout in the first round.

After his first fight, he took on Jai Herbert, and he did the same damage with his brutal KO punch, but in this case, it was in the second round. Topuria is on a roll, and he is currently ranked 15 in the featherweight division. Even though he is relatively new, he has a shot at the title this year. Therefore, he is one to watch.

Erin Blanchfield

At just 23, Erin Blanchfield is a cold-blooded fighter with so much fierceness in her stride. She is fast and exciting to watch, and since her debut, Blanchfield is now ranked 15th in the Flyweight women’s division. This was after her two incredible victories over Miranda Maverick and Sarah Alpar.

She might still be young and a fresh face in the sport, but she has talent and is fierce beyond her years. She has only lost once, and it was in a controversial match that many believed was the wrong call. Despite that 2019 incident, Blanchfield has been on a roll, and she continues to work hard to seal her status in the UFC.

Roberto Soldic

Outside of the UFC, Roberto Soldic blazed through the KSW and Croatian MMA. He is the current KSW Welterweight Champion with a special all-around talent, and he recently fought and won the biggest fight of his career through KO. Soldic faced the Polish superstar Mamed Khalidov and knocked him out in the second round, successfully defending his KSW Middleweight championship.

After his successful run in other MMA sports, Soldic decided to join the UFC and fight against top Welterweights in the world. As a result, we expect the KSW champion to do wonders in the UFC as he faces different opponents, including Colby Covington, Chimaev, and even Usman Kamaru.

Jordan Vucenic

Jordan Vucenic has shown that he can handle the toughest of opponents in the Featherweight division. He is the current Cage Warriors Featherweight Champion, and he recently got one of his best bouts and wins of the year after defeating Morgan Charriere in an epic must-see showdown.

Many have proclaimed him to have a Kelvin Gastelum, Daniel Weiche, and Dan Hooker vibe to him. Since he has defeated some high-level opponents, Vucenic is one of our top prospects in the Featherweight division. We look forward to more fights and how far he goes as a top dog in the category.

Final Thoughts

This year is packed with many exciting matches that we think would show some incredible showdown, and if it is possible, we would like to see our prospects challenge for the title. We understand that it might be too early, but it is a great way to gain more experience. All in all, we look forward to what 2022 holds for these superstars in the UFC.
