Sasha Banks Recalls Being Told By A NXT Writer She Was ‘A Good Hand’

Sasha Banks made plenty of headlines on Monday when she and Naomi walked out of WWE Raw after they were scheduled to compete in a six-pack challenge to determine the number one contender for the Raw Women’s Championship.

Before things went down on Monday, Banks appeared on Cold As Balls with Kevin Hart for an interview. While the interview was released on Tuesday, it was recorded prior to the events of Monday.

During the interview, Banks recalled her defining moment in WWE being down at a NXT.

“It was probably down at NXT,” she said when asked about her defining moment. “I wasn’t really getting used. A writer came up to me and told me that I was just a good hand. ‘A good hand.'”

When asked who the writer was, Banks replied, “I‘m not telling. I don’t need to. That was my defining moment. I was like, ‘Alright, I’m going to show you.’ The next month, I just turned it up and the next thing you know, I’m the NXT Women’s Champion. My accolades are so much, it’s hard for me to even remember. I do know that I am a five-time Raw Women’s Champion, a two-time Tag Team Women’s Champion, a SmackDown Women’s Champion, the first-ever woman to main event a WWE pay-per-view, the first-ever African American to main event a WrestleMania. It’s kind of hard to count.”

Hart joked that she was “being an asshole” by naming off all her accomplishments and nicknaming her “Cocky Cathy.” Hart then admitted that what she’s accomplished is impressive and asked if she feels she’s recognized as someone who has achieved and accomplished so much.

“I feel like I definitely get the respect I deserve in WWE. To be a woman and to main event, wake up, that wouldn’t be possible. Now, we are here doing it and to be a part of that is so incredible,” Banks replied.

Banks remains one-half of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions alongside Naomi.

WWE released a statement following the duo walking out on Monday, saying they laid their titles on the desk of John Laurinaitis before leaving. Fans can view WWE’s statement and more on them walking out by clicking here and by subscribing to Fightful Select.
