Raj Singh Would Love To See Another IMPACT Wrestling Game
In 2008, IMPACT Wrestling released its first, and only, console video game TNA Impact!
The game received average reviews and sold 1.5 million units. A sequel was announced, but Midway had financial issues and no console sequel was released.
There has been a resurgence in wrestling video games with WWE 2K22 being a critical and commercial success, AEW having an upcoming console game, RetroMania released in 2021 and Virtual Basement’s Wrestling Code on the horizon.
Speaking to Wrassingh Show, Raj Singh was asked about the possibility of a new IMPACT Wrestling game.
“I haven’t heard anything. If there is, it’s under wraps,” he said. “I would love to see that, just because you grew up your whole life playing video games. With WCW Revenge, playing as all my favorites and playing as all the guys that I used to like that nobody else knew because I was a wrestling fan and then all of a sudden they became stars. I remember using Eddie Guerrero in that game and nobody knew who he was, and next thing you know he becomes the best.”
On April 27, Fightful Select published the following report on IMPACT and Virtual Basement working together:
Virtual Basement had meetings with IMPACT Wrestling, where there pitches for the developers to work on the first new IMPACT Wrestling game in over a decade. However, we learned that IMPACT’s parent company Anthem Entertainment nixed IMPACT Wrestling stars appearing in Virtual Basement’s independent game, but wanted the two sides to work together on an IMPACT game.
As of now, IMPACT has no plans to release a video game, and there is no release date scheduled for The Wrestling Code.
Singh was in action at IMPACT Under Siege as part of the pre-show. Fans can view results from the show by clicking here.
