Dillon Danis Says Bellator 180 Doesn’t Sell Without Him
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu expert Dillon Danis has yet to make his professional MMA debut, but that hasn’t stopped the fighter from making outrageous claims, like being the highest paid fighter in the promotion.
The BJJ wizard now says that without him, the upcoming Bellator NYC PPV event will be a failure.
“We’d have to talk,” Danis told MMA Junkie. “We’d have to talk numbers, we’d have to talk everything. Just enticement. Because at the end of the day, that pay-per-view is not going to sell unless I’m on it. They’ve got a bunch of guys that no one cares about. But you put me on there, and the numbers will skyrocket, in my hometown, Madison Square Garden. The ball’s in their field.”
Danis is best known as the training partner of UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor, even appearing on the UFC Ultimate Fighter in the past.
Even though he has made a lot of outrageous claims, the fighters doesn’t care if we believe him or not.
“At the end of the day, I say what I want, I do what I want,” he said. “And no one’s going to stop me. If you don’t think I’m the highest paid, come say it to my face.”
Bellator 180 takes place on Saturday, June 24 from Madison Square Garden in New York, New York with Chael Sonnen and Wanderlei Silva headlining. Fightful will be providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
