Randy Orton Reflects On Relationship With Vince McMahon, Recalls Having Breakdowns In Front Of Him
Randy Orton says Vince McMahon has helped him grow and mature.
Randy Orton recently celebrated 20 years with WWE. In his two decades on main roster television, Randy Orton has matured both on screen and behind the scenes. Randy Orton, who still holds the record for being the youngest WWE World Heavyweight Champion in history, was on television at the age of 22. Therefore, Randy Orton due to his immaturity, was also the source of some problems behind the scenes when he was younger.
While recently taking part in a tour of Europe, Randy Orton, speaking to Metro, detailed the way his relationship with Vince McMahon has changed over the years, candidly admitting he used to have full-on breakdowns in front of the WWE chairman.
“He’s seen me in dark periods where I’ve had meltdowns and breakdowns in front of him. I’ve beat my head against the wall in front of him, as a 25-year-old man just emotional fucking – ‘Arrrr!’ – not knowing how to express myself. He’s witnessed that in close quarters. I think he sees a little bit of my crazy in him – even if it’s just a little bit.
These days, Randy Orton says his relationship with Vince is a special one and McMahon always makes time for him.
“From an early age when I was fucking up like that, I think it almost made him want to nurture that part of me. We’ve grown together in that regard, so now our conversations are a lot different,” he said. “If I knock on his door, peek my head in, nine out of 10 times, no matter who’s in there he’ll tell them to fuck off so I can come in and talk to him. Which is pretty cool, you know?”
Another name who has watched Randy Orton grow up and mature is John Cena. Arguably Randy his greatest rival, John extended his gratitude and congratulations to Randy Orton for the 20 years in WWE and for maturing along the way. Read more here.
