WWE NXT 2.0 Results For 4/19/2022: Natalya In Action, Santos Escobar vs Carmelo Hayes + More

– The show began with a video package showcasing the 5-Team Gauntlet Match for the Vacant NXT Tag Team Championships, which Pretty Deadly won. The video package was interrupted by Joe Gacy. He said that he was going to see what sacrifices Bron Breakker was willing to make.

– The broadcast began with the new NXT Tag Team Champions, Pretty Deadly, cutting a promo after winning the championships on the 4/12/2022 edition of NXT 2.0. Elton Prince stated that they made history by becoming the first team to win the NXT Tag Team Championships in their first match. Kit Wilson stated that the NXT UK Tag Division was becoming dull, which is why they came into the states to win the gold. Grizzled Young Veterans, Zack Gibson & James Drake, came onto the ramp and interrupted Pretty Deadly, with Gibson telling Pretty Deadly that they only dominated the NXT UK Tag Division because they left, saying that they would have mopped the floor with them. Legado del Fantasma (Del Toro & Joaquin Wilde) made their way to the ring and attacked Gibson and Drake, leading to them leaving the CWC arena.

– Bron Breakker made his way to the ring, asked Joe Gacy to make his way to the ring with the ring. Gacy said through the speakers that he was not a hard man to find, he just had to go for him, while showing multiple videos of his face laughing across the arena.

– After the commercial break, Santos Escobar was seeing in his house that Carmelo Hayes was the A-Champion with A lot of excuses, saying that he was not worthy of the North American Championship. Escobar told Hayes that his spot was in the back of the line. Hayes called Escobar crazy, saying that he created the line. Hayes stayed that Escobar was going to be the first victim of the “Get Them Back” tour.

Tiffany Stratton vs Sarray.

The match began with Sarray pushing Stratton before Stratton kicked her in the midsection. Sarray hit a low-drop kick on Stratton. Sarray hit a roll-up for a near fall before going for the Aries Lock, but Stratton got the top break. Sarray went for the infamous dropkick, but Stratton. Stratton hit a Hip-attack on Sarray’s back for a near fall. Sarray got put in the Million Dollar Dream by Stratton before hitting an Irish Whip on Sarray to the corner. Stratton hit a spring-rope Swanton for a near fall. Sarray and Stratton hit a series of slaps before hitting a dropkick to the mid-section of Sarray. Sarray hit a Double Stomp on Stratton before hitting the Low drop-kick on Stratton. Sarray went for the O’Connor Roll, but Stratton hit a headbutt on Sarray. Stratton hit a Corkscrew Vader Bomb for the pinfall victory

Winner: Tiffany Stratton.

– Backstage, Gibson and Drake were walking into the locker room before being pushed off by Bron Breakker. Breakker heard the voice of his dad, Rick Steiner, but it was a recording from the 4/5/2022 episode of NXT from a tablet. Steiner slammed the tablet to the floor before leaving the area, continuing to look for Gacy.

– Pretty Deadly were backstage looking at pictures of WWE Hall of Famers before meeting Indi Hartwell and Persia Perotta. Perotta and Hartwell proposed the NXT Champions to defend their titles against Duke Hudson & Dexter Lumis, and they said that they will think about it before leaving the scene.

– Grayson Waller was interviewed backstage, saying that he fired Sanga for dragging him down. Andre Chase and Bodhi Hayward interrupted Waller, telling him that his actions were a teachable moment. Sanga interrupted the interview to chase down Waller from backstage to the ring, leading to their match.

Sanga vs Grayson Waller

Waller slapped Sanga, but he got dropped by Sanga before being tossed across the ring by Sanga six times, to the delight of the CWC crowd. Waller hit a low dropkick to the leg of Sanga. Waller hit a series of punches on Sanga, but Snaga hit him with a shoulder block and an uppercut to the back. Sanga hit a side-slam on Waller before slamming Waller’s head to the ground. Sanga hit a standing elbow drop on Waller for a pinfall attempt, but Waller got a rope break. Sanga hit Waller with a Body slam. Waller slide to the outside, but Waller slammed Sanga to the ring post outside. Waller got Sanga back in the ring before hitting the Rolling Stunner for the pinfall victory. Waller got a Fan-made Australian flag to celebrate.

Winner: Grayson Waller.

– Cora Jade was seeing in a video package talking about her interaction with Natalya on the 4/12/2022 edition of NXT, saying that she was her idol. She said that wrestling Natalya was a dream match of hers, but she said that it will a dream of Jade’s to kick Natalya’s “Hall of Fame ass”.

– There was a video package to highlighting Roxanne Perez (former Ring of Honor Women’s Champion Rok-C), saying that she once thought playing as a WWE Superstar in video games, revealing that she will make her debut on the 4/26/2022 edition of NXT. Backstage, Roxanne Perez was backstage interviewed, but Toxic Attraction interrupted interview. Mandy Rose told Perez to never get her hopes up, to which Perez said this: “Ok”. This got Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jane livid, telling Perez if she was interested in moving her debut to this week. Perez said that she will think about it.

Zack Gibson & James Drake vs Legado del Fantasma (Joaquin Wilde & Cruz Del Toro) (w/ Santos Escobar & Elektra Lopez).

Del Toro and Wilde hit Tope Con Hilo’s on Gibson and Drake before the MATCH. Wilde hit a combination of an arm-drag and Dropkick on both Gibson and Drake. Drake hit an inseguri kick on Wilde before hitting a missile dropkick on Del Toro. Del Toro tagged in and hit a lariat on Drake and Gibson. Del Toro went for a Superplex on Drake, but he was pushed down. Del Toro hit a top-rope Frankensteiner on Drake, but Gibson hit him with a strike to the neck of Del Toro. Wilde hit middle rope dropkick on Gibson outside. Del Toro hit a Tornado DDT on Drake. Wilde and Del Toro hit a variant of Total Elimination (hitting a Dropkick-Russian Leg Sweep) on Gibson for the pinfall victory​. After the match, Escobar got the microphone and asked to keep the momentum going, telling Tony D’Angelo to watch how a real leader handles his business.

Winners: Legado del Fantasma (Cruz del Toro & Joaquin Wilde).

– Wes Lee was seeing backstage, saying that he was feeling lost since Stand & Deliver. Xyon Quinn interrupted Lee to tell him to run it straight. Lee told him that he sounded cool saying that, but he does not know what that exactly means. Quinn told Lee that he needed to be thought a lesson, to which Lee said that the ring is the only place he does not feel lost.

Carmello Hayes (w/ Trick Williams) vs Santos Escobar.

​​​​​​The match began with the two wrestlers locking up. Hayes got Escobar in a Guillotine choke, but Santos sent him to the ropes before Hayes pushed Escobar’s face to the ground. Hayes had Escobar in a headlock, but Escobar hit Hayes with a dropkick. Escobar hit an inseguri kick before doing a top-rope crossbody on Hayes. Santos got distracted by Trick Wiliams before being hit by Hayes with a spring rope Forearm on Escobar. Hayes hit a pump-kick and a neck breaker on Escobar. Escobar got out of the ring, but he and Hayes brawled outside the ring. As Escobar was getting back to the ring, Hayes hit an elbow on Escobar for a near fall. Hayes got Escobar in a side headlock, transitioning to a sleeper hold with body scissors. Escobar escaped the move, but Hayes hit another kick on Escobar for a near fall. Hayes got another side headlock on Escobar on the ground, but Escobar escaped. Hayes slammed Escobar across two ring-corner, but Escobar slammed him back. Escobar hit a knee strike and an elbow drop on Hayes, but Hayes went for a Standing Spanish Fly but instead got Escobar in an STO. Hayes jumped off the middle rope, but Escobar caught him with a choke breaker for a near fall. Hayes caught Escobar in a single-leg crab, but Escobar got the rope break. Hayes went for another Guillotine choke on Escobar, but Escobar reversed it with an Inside Cradle for a near fall. Hayes got another guillotine choke on Escobar, but Escobar reversed it into a Northern Lights Suplex for a near fall. Escobar hit a standing suplex on Hayes, leaving both competitors laying on the ring. Escobar and Hayes exchanged strikes before Hayes leaned to the ropes and jumped by hitting a slap on Escobar. Escobar fired up and hit a chop on Hayes before punching Hayes. Escobar hit a punch, lariat, and a forearm strike on Hayes before doing a Tope Suicida on Hayes. Escobar got Hayes on the ring, but two mysterious men attacked Escobar. This led to Hayes hitting a top-rope leg drop on Escobar for the pinfall victory.

After the match, Hayes revealed that in two weeks from the show, he will become a two-time North American Champion. NXT North American Champion, Cameron Grimes said that he accepted the challenge from Hayes. Solo Sikoa hit a superkick on Trick Williams and a pop-up Samoan Drop on Hayes before staring down Grimes, telling him that he was next.

Winner: Carmelo Hayes (w/ Trick Williams).

– Backstage, Bron Breakker walked to a mysterious room full of mirrors, in search of Joe Gacy. He saw Gacy behind him through the mirror, but he was not there when he turned back. He shouted out “WHERE ARE YOU?” before slamming all the mirrors in the room and walking out of the room.

– Backstage, Malcolm Bivens was seeing backstage talking to Ivy Nile, who was located in NXT UK, before being confronted by Roderick Strong. Strong said that he was not going to be let another faction crumble, saying that anyone that does not agree with his vision is an enemy of Diamond Mine.

Natalya vs Tatum Paxley

The match began with Paxley and Natalya locking up before Natalya pushed Paxley to the ground. Natalya got Paxley in a side headlock before Paxley got Natalya in a head scissors, but she escaped with a kick-up. Paxley got Natalya in a head-lock of her own before being put in head scissors on Paxley, followed by Paxley escaping with a kick-up. Natalya hit a wrist-lock on Paxley, but Paxley escaped with a Backflip-Arm drag on Natalya. Natalya chased down Paxley before hitting her with a Lariat on the outside, followed by the Suplex outside. Natalya got Paxley in the Romero Special before slamming Paxley’s face to the ground. Paxley a lariat, and an elbow strike, and a suplex on Natalya before hitting a standing corkscrew for a near fall. Natalya locked Paxley in in the Sharpshooter for the submission win.

Winner: Natalya.

– Tony D’Angelo was asked if he was involved with the attack of Santos Escobar, which D’Angelo denied. D’Angelo did say that he was impressed with the two mystery men trying to make a name for themselves, before looking at Legado Del Fantasma’s Chevrolet Car.

– There was a video package highlighting Nathan Frazier, who was going to make his way to NXT 2.0. He said that he lives in the ropes

Xyon Quinn vs Wes Lee.

The match began with a swanton heel kick from Lee, followed by a dropkick and a tope Suicida on Quinn on the outside. Quinn hit a back suplex on the apron to Lee for a near fall. Quinn hit a series of strikes before Lee kicked Quinn. Quinn a double forearm on Lee. Quinn hit a spear to Lee on the corner before getting Lee on a Death Valley position. Lee reversed to an inside cradle on Quinn. Quinn popped up Lee before slamming him to the ground. Lee hit a superkick, an elbow strike and a drop kick. Quinn hit a fore arm strike on Lee before hitting a running forearm stike on Lee for the pinfall victory.

Winner: Xyon Quinn.

– Backstage, Natalya was interviewed backstage, saying that her attack on Cora Jade was an act of self-defense. She was interrupted by Nikkita Lyons, who told her that she will come for Natalya after she beats Lash Legend on the 4/26 edition of NXT. Natalya told Lyons that she will know what to do when she is locked in the sharpshooter, to which Lyons responded that she is flexible. There was an extremely awkward silence after that line.

– It was revealed that Von Wagner has been indefinitely suspended after his attack on Ikeman Jiro, who was sidelined from competition for a month.

Jacy Jane (w/ Mandy Rose & Gigi Dolin) vs Roxanne Perez.

The match began with Jayne hitting a knee to the midsection of Perez. Perez hit a wicked chop followed by an O’Connor Roll for a near fall. Jayne and Perez exchanged pinfall attempts before Jayne kicked Perez. Perez two arm-drags before being caughtin the attempt for a third, but she hit the third arm drag. Jayne hit a superkick on Perez. Wendy Choo was seen in the titantron destroying the Toxic Lounge. This distracted Jayne, leading to Perez transitioning a roll-up to the Code Rok (Code Red) for the pinfall win.

Winner: Roxanne Perez.

– Legado Del Fantasma were making their way to the parking lot, but their car was seen with a muffler, preventing the car to move, and a dead fish in the front of the car. Escobar insinuated that it was D’Angelo.

– Cameron Grimes (c) vs Solo Sikoa vs Carmelo Hayes is scheduled for Spring Breakin on 5/3/2022.

– Gacy was seeing backstage looking at camera footage, waiting for Bron to find him, saying that it time for him to end this.

NXT Tag Team Championship Match

Pretty Deadly (Elton Prince & Kit Wilson) vs Dexter Lumis & Duke Hudson

The match began with Pretty Deadly double-teaming Lumis, with Wilson kicking and punching Lumis in the midsection. Prince and Wilson hit shoulder blocks on Lumis before hitting a Leg Drop- Splash combination. Lumis hit an atomic drop on Lumis. Wilson tagged in and went for a top-rope move, but Lumis caught him with a Atomic Drop. Hudson kicked Wilson in the stomach before and Lumis went for a double suplex. Prince caught Wilson. Wilson and Prince slid out of a ring and hugged Indi and Persia. Lumis hit a Thesz Press on Wilson before he and Duke hit a double-suplex on Wilson. Hudson hit a series of punches on Wilson before hitting him with a clothesline. Lumis crawled out of the ring in an attempt to chase down Wilson, but Wilson caught him with a punch in the ring. Prince got hit with an elbow strike from Lumis before Lumis locked Prince in a side headlock. Hudson tagged in and hit an Irish whip on Prince, followed by a sideslam for a near fall. Hudson slammed Prince on his back before tagging in Lumis. Lumis hit a snap-dragon headlock on Lumis. Prince hit a chin-breaker, but Lumis caught him with an Elbow Strike. Prett Deadly double-teamed Lumis in the corner, followed by Prince hitting a neck breaker for the near fall. Wilson hit Lumis with a modified Rear naked choked before hitting Wilson with an inseguri kick, tagging in Hudson. Hudson hit a Overhead suplex on Prince, followed by a powerslam on Wilson. Hudson tossed Wilson to hit a spear on Prince, his tag team partner. Hudson went to tag in Lumis, but Wilson dropped on the ground. Lumis got back up, but Prince attacked Lumis. Hudson caught Prince with a snap-powerslam on Prince for a near fall. Hudson got distracted by Wilson, which led to Prince hitting a big boot for the pinfall victory.

Winners & Still NXT Tag Team Champions: Prety Deadly (Kit Wilson & Elton Prince).

– Gacy was seen on the podium in the arena, and he called out Breakker to come in to get the ring. Gacy told Breakker that all he had to do was asked. Gacy told Breakker that all he had to do to get back the ring, was give him a title match on Spring Breakin. Gacy pushed Breakker off the podium, falling to the ground. Breakker was surrounded by mysterious people to end the show.
