EXCLUSIVE: Matt Riddle Says He “Should Be Getting Big Matches In Japan”

Matt Riddle wants to wrestle in Japan, but will not beg for it.

So far in 2017, Matt Riddle has wrestled and won championships in North America and Europe, but has yet to wrestle in Japan.  On Fightful Wrestling's BROCAST, Riddle was discussing how Dan Severn's mixed-martial-arts background should get him bookings in Japanese professional wrestling promotions, then Riddle made the comment he also should be able to wrestle in Japan.

"I'll be honest, Matt Riddle should be getting big matches in Japan," said Riddle. "This is ridiculous at this point…nobody from Japan, nobody from that area of the world is even talking to me. I must have offended somebody," Riddle added.

He also said his current schedule is so busy, in order to go to Japan he would need someone to approach him with an opportunity.

"I haven't had to try yet (to get bookings), I'm not a beggar, I don't beg for stuff. I'm not saying you have to shove it in my face,  but I'm not going to assume I deserve it. You've got to present it to me," said Riddle.

Since he began his professional wrestling career in 2015, Riddle has wrestled in Canada, Scotland, Germany, England, Ireland, and The United States.  In December, he visited Asia when WWNLive sent him as an ambassador in preparation for one of their events.  During the rest of the podcast, Riddle discussed comments by Joey Janela saying Riddle only wrestles short matches and the podcast featured a "run-in" by Stokely Hathaway.

The Fightful Wrestling BROCAST featuring Riddle and host Sean Ross Sapp airs on Fridays and is immediately available with free membership.
